Orange Cake

Made this orange cake last few days...it was really good..Thanks a lot to exclusivelyfood for the excellent recipe..must keep!! and I made few modifications and it still taste great...

Orange cake recipe

185g  butter, softened 
190g  caster sugar
3 large eggs at room temperature 
1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest 
185g  self-raising flour
4 tablespoons (80ml) orange juice 




For the orange icing


150g  icing sugar
30ml orange juice 




Citrus Icing
Stir icing sugar and juice together in a small bowl until smooth


Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius
Grease the side and base of a 20cm diameter  round cake pan.
Using an electric mixer or electric hand-held beaters, beat butter and sugar until very pale and creamy. 

Add the eggs one at a time, beating for a few minutes after each addition. 
Add the zest with the last egg
Add half the flour and stir until just combined. Repeat with remaining flour. 
Mix in juice.Spoon mixture into prepared pan and spread evenly.
Sit pan on a wire rack and allow cake to cool. 
Ice with the prepared orange icing

Steamboat with yong tau foo sauce


Bahan- Bahan Sup:

1 ekor ayam (ayam tua lagi bagus)
Lobak merah
Celeri
Halia
Bawang Besar
Garam
Chicken Stock
Rock Sugar

Cara-caranya:

Ayam yang telah dibersihkan dipotong dan di rebus sehingga empuk bersama lobak merah(dipotong),batang celeri(dipotong),bawang besar(didadu kasar) serta halia yang dititik kasar.
Di renih dengan api perlahan sehingga semua sebati.(Makin lama di masak,makin bagus).
Masukkan garam dan chicken stock secukup rasa. Akhir sekali,masukkan sedikit rock sugar.

Bahan-bahan sos:

Cili kering
Gula melaka
Sedikit belacan
Tepung jagung
Garam
Bijan

Cara-caranya:

Cili digoreng sehingga garing.Angkat dan blend dengan sedikit air.Di dalam periuk,gula melaka dimasak dengan air dan masukkan sedikit belacan.Masukkan cili kering yang telah dikisar tadi.Masukkan bancuhan tepung jagung untuk memekatkan sos.Akhir sekali,masukkan bijan yang telah digoreng tanpa minyak.Sedia untuk dihidangkan.

Resepi Ayam Paprik

Thanks to this blog, where I've got this recipe from.I thought that this dish were a simple dish and easy to make and it is actually yummy.I made it today for lunch..and my hubby loves it..


You'll need...


Step 1


Chicken (cut into small cubes/pieces,or up to you)
carrot
onion
shallot
cili padi
serai
lime leaves
garlic
broccoli
cauliflower


Step 2


Seasoned/Marinate the chicken with little bit of sugar,oyster sauce ,pepper and soy sauce( I replace the soy sauce with thick caramel sauce)


Step 3


Sauce
Chili Sauce
Oyster Sauce
Kicap Manis (Sweet Soy Sauce)
Tomato Sauce/Tomato


Step 4
saute shallot, garlic and onion in hot oil.add in the chicken and fry,when the chicken is cooked, add in
oyster sauce, tomato sauce, chili sauce and
kicap manis.add in carrot and cili padi.
saute for a little while.
add in a little bit of water, the lime leaves and
serai,broccoli and cauliflower. saute for a while till cooked.(Salt is optional because the sauce is already salty).

Green Papaya Curry




I haven't tried this recipe yet,but I saw it in Poh's kitchen..and it looks yummy..so if you guys had tried it,please leave comments and let me know how was it..


INGREDIENTS

  • ½ Green Papaya (400g)
  • 50gm birds eye (scuad) chillies
  • 5cm fresh turmeric root, or 2 teaspoons of dried turmeric
  • 1 ½ handfuls of dried fish, soaked to rehydrate and to reduce the salt content (available from an Asian grocer)
  • 2 medium size shallot, sliced
  • 2 stalks lemon grass, crushed
  • 200ml thick coconut milk
  • 50ml water
  • 50g dried anchovies
  • 1pcs dried tamarind
  • Salt to taste

RECIPES




METHOD

  1. Skin the papaya and slice into thin strands and place into cold wok or pan.
  2. Add the lemon grass, tamarind and shallot.
  3. Pound or grind the birds eye chillies and turmeric into a fine paste and fold into the other ingredients.
  4. Add the rehydrated dried fish to the pan.
  5. Pound anchovies coarsely and add to pan.
  6. Add coconut milk and water and a little salt to taste.
  7. Cook until mixture reaches a thick consistency. (It's a quick cook, stirring as you go.)
  8. Serve with white rice.

Chocolate Chip Muffin


Chocolate chip muffin recipe:

Makes: 12

INGREDIENTS: - 2 cups (300g) all-purpose flour (self raising flour) - 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar (280g) - 2 teaspoon baking powder - pinch of salt salt - 1/4 cup milk - 90g unsalted butter -- melted and cooled - 2 eggs - lightly beaten - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1 package of chocolate chips made out from dark solid chocolate - 1 tsp cinnamon

Method - how to use chocolate chip muffin recipe:

- In a large bowl stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. - In another bowl stir together milk, eggs, butter and vanilla until blended. - Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and add the milk mixture. Stir just to combine. - Fold in chocolate chips. - Fill paper cups 2/3 with batter and bake them 25-30 minutes on 190 degrees C. - Chocolate chip muffins are baked when the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Udang Masak Lemak Cili Api Simple

Bahan-bahan

8 ekor Udang
1/2 btg Serai
1 biji Cili Api
sedikit Serbuk Kunyit
Santan
Sedikit Air
Garam
Asam Keping

Cara-cara

1.Tumbuk serai dan cili api.
2. Gaulkan bersama udang.
3.Panaskan kuali,Masukkan udang yang telah digaul dgn serai. Kacau dan masukkan sedikit air.
4. Selepas seketika,masukkan santan,jika hendak lebih lemak,lebihkan santan.
5.Masukkan asam keping dan garam secukup rasa.
6. Gaul dan biar hingga masak.Pastikan masakan tidak pecah minyak.
